Invisalign for Teens & Adults Fort Mill SC

Straightening Teeth Without Conventional Braces

Invisalign® is a new system of straightening teeth without using conventional braces. Instead, we use a series of clear plastic aligners (similar to athletic mouth guards) to create tooth movement. They are invisible, removable and comfortable aligners that no one can tell you’re wearing. So you can smile more during treatment as well as after. Invisalign is made with 3-D computer imaging technology and has been proven effective for over one million patients and counting. More than 70% of orthodontists in the US and Canada are now certified to treat with Invisalign.

Why Would You Want Invisalign?

Not only are the aligners invisible, they are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment. You simply remove them to brush and floss. They are comfortable, too, with no metal used during treatment. And no metal or wires usually means you spend less time getting adjustments. Invisalign also allows you to see how straight your teeth will look when your treatment is complete.

Crowns

Over time, our teeth can weaken and become more susceptible to decay, cracks, discoloration and other issues. If you feel like your old smile is missing, crowns can help you rediscover it. If your dentist notices tooth decay or sees damage, a crown may be necessary to protect and preserve the tooth. In cases like this, fillings or bonding will not be sufficient.
Crowns can be made from porcelain, porcelain fused to metal or full gold. To maintain a natural look and feel, a porcelain-finished crown is best, as it can be matched to the exact shade of your other teeth.

Installing a crown usually takes two to three visits. On the first visit, the tooth is reshaped so the crown can be placed over it. You will be given a local anesthetic so that you don’t experience any discomfort. Once the tooth has been reshaped, molds will be taken and sent to the dental lab. Your new crown will be crafted to fit in the spot created for it. It will match the surrounding teeth. We’ll fit you with a temporary crown until your permanent crown is ready.

After two to three weeks, your new crown is placed. Then, when you look in the mirror, you will see your old smile back. Crowns are quite durable and usually last 10 to 15 years. Like your other teeth, the crown needs regular brushing and flossing.

Cosmetic Dentistry Fort Mill SC

Modern dentistry offers a wide variety of treatment options for people seeking to enhance their smile. If there is something you don’t like about your smile, you don’t have to live with it. Below are just some of the many cosmetic procedures and services Dominguez & Rucker Family Dentistry provides to our patients.

Teeth Whitening or Bleaching

Keeping our teeth their whitest is a lot harder than it sounds. Coffee, wine, smoking, medications and certain health problems can stain and discolor your teeth, even with proper home care and maintenance. Teeth whitening is an excellent way to restore the natural color of your teeth or even make them whiter.

BOOST

BOOST is a quick, safe and efficient chairside bleaching process that lightens discoloration of enamel and dentin. Bleaching agents are applied in several stages; the entire BOOST procedure lasts about 90 minutes. The solution releases oxygen, and the oxygen bleaches stains while keeping the structure of the tooth unchanged.

ZOOM!® Whitening

To accomplish the whitening of your teeth, we utilize a product called ZOOM!. ZOOM! is a chairside whitening procedure that uses a safe whitening gel and a low-intensity light to activate the gel. This combination allows us to whiten teeth six to 10 shades in about an hour!

At-Home System

A tray whitening system is the most common way to whiten teeth in the privacy of your own home. This is done in two steps. The first step is to make an impression of your teeth. With this impression, we’ll craft custom whitening trays (similar to athletic mouth guards) that you can use over and over. You simply apply the whitening gel for a short period of time each day for a few days. Your smile will typically get four to eight shades whiter!
